To enhance accessibility for Indian travelers, South African Tourism has teamed up with Ethiopian Airlines to launch the #ExploreMore&MoreForLess campaign. This initiative aims to reduce the cost of international travel by offering the lowest-ever fares to South Africa. From September 1 to September 30, 2024, travelers can book flights from Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, and Chennai to Cape Town and Johannesburg for just INR 37,839.
The special fare is available exclusively through Ethiopian Airlines' website and mobile app, with travel dates from October 1 to December 31, 2024. Additionally, customers can enjoy an extra 10% discount on the base fare. Timed for the festive season, this offer allows Indian travelers to plan their journeys around Diwali and Christmas.
Airfare often plays a crucial role in travel decisions, impacting the choice of activities and experiences during a trip. This campaign, an extension of South African Tourism’s popular More&More initiative, aims to give travelers the freedom to explore South Africa’s diverse adventures, wildlife, and culinary delights.
Mr. Gcobani Mancotywa, Regional General Manager for Asia, Australasia, and the Middle East at South African Tourism, expressed enthusiasm for the campaign, stating, “We are thrilled to launch the #ExploreMore&MoreForLess campaign with Ethiopian Airlines. Our goal is to make South Africa more accessible to Indian travelers, allowing them to experience our country's vibrant culture and hospitality. India is a key market for us, and this campaign reflects our commitment to providing value and fostering deeper connections with our Indian visitors.”
In 2023, South African Tourism saw a 43% increase in visitors from India compared to the previous year. Building on this momentum, the tourism board aims to attract over 100,000 Indian visitors in 2024. This campaign follows their 20th Annual India Roadshow, which engaged with over 12,000 participants across five cities. Such initiatives underscore South African Tourism’s dedication to welcoming more Indian travelers and offering them exceptional value.
