The Ministry of Culture is thrilled to present its ongoing festival series, Amrit Parampara, a grand initiative aimed at uniting India through its rich artistic legacy. Following a successful launch on November 2, the ‘Kaveri Meets Ganga’ program—kicking off this series—continued to enchant audiences on its second day at Kartavya Path and CCRT Dwarka, celebrating traditional and folk arts in the spirit of Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat.
This collaborative festival, organized by the Ministry’s institutions including Sangeet Natak Akademi, Kalakshetra, and CCRT, bridges South Indian and North Indian artistic traditions. Running from November 2 to 5, 2024, ‘Kaveri Meets Ganga’ draws inspiration from Chennai's Margazhi Festival, showcasing the diversity of Indian culture.
Focusing on reviving traditional art forms, particularly those at risk of fading, Amrit Parampara employs innovative immersive technology to create unforgettable experiences. This festival also commemorates the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Patel, connecting his vision of unity in diversity with the festival's ethos.
The second day's events featured a lineup of talented artists celebrating India's cultural heritage. At Kartavya Path, the evening began with a captivating Shehnai performance by Jagdish Prakash and his group from Delhi, followed by a mesmerizing duet on the Saraswati Veena and Sarod by S. Radhakrishnan and Mukesh Sharma. The renowned Carnatic duo Ranjani and Gayatri from Tamil Nadu enchanted the audience with their harmonies, leading into an energetic Kuchipudi performance by Vasant Kiran and artists from Karnataka.
Simultaneously at CCRT Dwarka, the Symphony of Kalakshetra Foundation showcased the richness of Carnatic music, followed by a Classical Dance Ensemble led by Shri Rahul Varshney and Team Soch, celebrating India’s diverse traditions. The evening concluded with a serene Bhajan by Sooryagayathri, whose soulful voice brought devotional music to life.
Amrit Parampara promises to be a remarkable festival, offering audiences in Delhi a unique chance to engage with India’s classical and folk arts in an innovative setting. With performances designed to evoke pride and nostalgia, the festival fosters unity and appreciation for the richness of Indian heritage. Stay tuned for more updates as the journey through India’s cultural landscape continues!
