Mohammad Amir & Imad Wasim Return to International Cricket
Imad Wasim and Mohammad Amir have decided to retire from international cricket once more, after briefly returning to play for Pakistan in the T20 World Cup earlier this year. Imad announced his retirement on Friday, calling it the end of a chapter, while Amir followed on Saturday, describing it as a "difficult decision."
The duo had been part of Pakistan's squad for the T20 World Cup held in the USA and the Caribbean in June. Their final international appearance was during a group-stage match against Ireland on June 16. Despite decent individual performances, Pakistan failed to progress beyond the group stage, and the tournament was eventually won by India.
Amir emerged as Pakistan’s top bowler, tying with Haris Rauf with seven wickets in four games at an impressive economy rate of 4.50. Imad contributed with the ball, taking three wickets at a tight economy rate of 4.00, though his batting returns were modest.
Both players remain highly sought-after in franchise cricket leagues. Recently, they showcased their skills at the Abu Dhabi T10 tournament, with Imad’s team reaching the finals and Amir’s side putting up a strong fight in the group stages.

Their retirements mark another turning point in their careers as they now focus fully on thriving in the franchise cricket world.
