Vidhi Shanghvi, daughter of India’s healthcare tycoon Dilip Shanghvi, is emerging as a key figure in her family’s ₹4.35 lakh crore pharma empire, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries. Alongside her brother Aalok Shanghvi, Vidhi plays a significant role in steering the company’s growth. Currently serving as Vice President, she oversees the Consumer Healthcare, Nutrition, and India Distribution divisions, helping shape the company’s strategy for over a decade.

 

An Economics graduate from the prestigious Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, Vidhi also holds a position as a non-executive director at Sun Pharma Advanced Research Company Limited (SPARC), a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical firm under Sun Pharma.

 

Beyond her corporate responsibilities, Vidhi is a strong advocate for mental health. She founded a non-profit platform that provides free, holistic mental health resources, encouraging individuals to prioritize their well-being.

 

Sun Pharma, the world’s fourth-largest specialty generic pharmaceutical company, earns annual revenues of $5.4 billion. With operations spanning 43 manufacturing facilities and a presence in over 100 countries, the company is a global leader in affordable, high-quality medicines.

 

Her Link to the Ambanis

Vidhi is married to Vivek Salgaocar, son of renowned Goan industrialists Shiv and Ranjana Salgaocar. The Salgaocar family shares close ties with the Ambanis. Mukesh and Anil Ambani’s sister Deepti is married to Dattaraj Salgaocar, who is Vivek’s uncle, connecting the Shanghvis to the illustrious Ambani family.
