The Adani Group has officially acquired Air Works, India's largest private aviation maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services company, for ₹400 crore. This deal, carried out through Adani Defence Systems & Technologies Ltd (ADSTL), secures an 85.8% stake in Air Works.

 

With operations spanning 35 cities and a team of over 1,300 experts, Air Works specializes in servicing both fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft. This acquisition significantly enhances Adani's MRO capabilities in both civil and defense aviation, marking a key step in the group's strategy to expand its integrated aviation services.

 

Air Works offers a wide range of aviation services, including line maintenance, heavy checks, avionics, aircraft painting, interior refurbishment, and redelivery checks for clients both in India and abroad. Its facilities in Hosur, Mumbai, and Kochi support maintenance for narrowbody, turboprop, and rotary aircraft, and it holds regulatory approvals from aviation authorities in more than 20 countries.

 

Jeet Adani, Director of Adani Airports, highlighted the rapid growth of India's aviation sector, now the third-largest in the world, with plans to introduce over 1,500 aircraft in the coming years. He stated, “This acquisition supports our vision to build an integrated aviation services ecosystem that strengthens India's aviation infrastructure and shapes the future of our skies.”

 

Air Works also possesses strong defense MRO capabilities, having supported the Indian Navy's P-8I aircraft and the Indian Air Force’s 737 VVIP fleet. This acquisition is poised to enhance domestic MRO capabilities and aligns with the government's Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
