The Christopher Newport University will offer “Contextualizing Taylor Swift,” an honors seminar class, in the spring semester. The class is capped at 23 students and filled up quickly. Only one student is a music major. Hamm’s class will include music, video, and poetry analysis and will examine Swift through the lenses of various identities, including as a business owner and even a politician. “Contextualizing Taylor Swift,” an Honors seminar, will be taught in the Spring by Dr. Chelsey Hamm, assistant professor of music theory and Director of Music Theory and Aural Skills. Students from all majors will be able to register for it. (source: CNU)
