Neeraj Chopra Talks Federer, Nadal, and His Hair Struggles
Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra recently shared some interesting anecdotes about his life and career during an interview. The Haryana native humorously admitted his struggles with maintaining long hair, drawing comparisons to tennis icons Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer.
"I didn’t take proper care of my hair, and now it’s disappearing," Neeraj joked. "Athletes with long hair, like Nadal or Federer, face challenges because of all the sweat. I can’t manage to shampoo and oil it regularly like many others. After training, I just towel-dry my sweaty hair, shower, and sleep. That’s probably why my hair is weak now."
Meeting Roger Federer: A Memorable Moment
Neeraj also shared details about his headline-making meeting with Roger Federer in Zurich. Both athletes serve as tourism ambassadors for their respective countries, which led to the encounter.
"Meeting Federer was special. He’s a genuine person, and we spoke about sports both on and off-camera. Everyone knows the legend he is," Neeraj said.
Federer, he revealed, has a special fondness for Indian culture. "He told me Indian food is always in his top five. Wherever he travels, he tries to find Indian dishes. He also mentioned wanting to visit India, especially Rajasthan," Neeraj added.
A Champion Since His Early Days
From breaking records at the World U-20 Championships in 2016 with a stunning throw of 86.48m to becoming an Olympic champion, Neeraj has consistently proved his mettle. His journey continues to inspire millions, blending humility with his passion for the sport.
