Karun Nair has been on fire in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25, amassing an incredible 664 runs in just six matches without being dismissed. The Vidarbha batter has smashed five centuries, guiding his team to the semifinals against Maharashtra. His unbeaten streak and consistent performances have made him the tournament's top scorer and the only player in List A history to achieve such a feat without losing his wicket.

 

Nair, who debuted for India in 2016, is best remembered for his stunning triple century against England in just his third Test. However, his international career came to an abrupt halt after six matches, with his last appearance in 2017. Now, after eight years, Nair is reportedly back on the radar of BCCI selectors, as per The Indian Express.

 

With India in a transitional phase and key players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli struggling in Tests, Nair’s exceptional form could be the boost India’s middle order needs. As the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 approaches, selectors are considering the 33-year-old as a strong contender for the squad.
