"Cummins, Hazlewood Return as Australia Announce Squad for Champions Trophy 2025"
Australia has unveiled its 15-man preliminary squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, set to begin next month. Leading the squad is Pat Cummins, who returns from paternity leave to captain the side. Another key inclusion is Josh Hazlewood, recovering from an injury but still named in the lineup despite skipping the Sri Lanka series for rest.

Cummins, however, is expected to undergo a scan for an ankle issue sustained during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, according to reports.

Chief selector George Bailey expressed confidence in the team, highlighting its mix of experience and versatility. "This squad brings together players who excelled in the recent World Cup, the West Indies series, last year’s UK tour, and our home games against Pakistan. It provides flexibility to adapt to different conditions in Pakistan," Bailey noted.

With proven performers and a balanced lineup, Australia looks well-prepared to make a strong statement in the prestigious tournament.
