Congress Promises ₹500 Gas Cylinder and Free Electricity in Delhi Assembly Election Campaign
The Congress party has made significant promises ahead of the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, pledging to provide residents with a gas cylinder for ₹500, a free ration kit, and 300 units of free electricity if elected to power. This announcement marks the fourth set of guarantees from the party as it campaigns for the February 5 elections.

During a press conference, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy urged voters in Delhi to support Congress, criticizing both the Modi and Kejriwal administrations for failing to improve living conditions in the capital despite their repeated terms in office. He stated, “There is no difference between Modi and Kejriwal... what have they done for Delhi? Today, Delhi is not suitable for living.”

In addition to these latest promises, Congress previously introduced several initiatives aimed at addressing economic challenges faced by residents. These include the "Pyaari Didi Yojana," which promises ₹2,500 monthly to women, and the "Jeevan Raksha Yojana," offering health coverage of up to ₹25 lakh. The party also announced the "Yuva Udaan Yojana," which guarantees a monthly stipend of ₹8,500 to educated unemployed youth in Delhi.

The election will take place in a single phase on February 5, with results expected on February 8. The last date for filing nominations is January 17, followed by scrutiny on January 18 and withdrawal of candidatures by January 20.
