Paytm Q3 Loss Narrows, Revenue Drops 36% YoY

Paytm’s parent company, One 97 Communications, reported a net loss of ₹208.3 crore for Q3 FY25, a slight improvement from last year’s loss of ₹219.8 crore. However, the company’s revenue dropped 36% year-on-year (YoY), falling to ₹1,827.8 crore from ₹2,850.5 crore.

On a positive note, Paytm saw a 10% sequential revenue growth driven by an increase in Gross Merchandise Value (GMV), strong growth in subscription revenues, and higher financial services earnings. GMV rose 13% quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) to ₹5 lakh crore, and financial services revenue jumped 34% QoQ to ₹502 crore.

Despite the dip in overall revenue, Paytm’s net payment margin increased by 5% QoQ to ₹489 crore, thanks to higher subscription revenue. Monthly Transacting Users (MTU) slightly decreased to 7.0 crore from 7.1 crore in the previous quarter.
