BCCI Bars 'Pakistan' from Team India Jerseys for Champions Trophy, Sparks PCB Outrage

BCCI Bars 'Pakistan' from Team India Jerseys for Champions Trophy, Sparks PCB Outrage
BCCI-Pakistan Clash Over Team India Jersey Sparks New ICC Controversy

A new dispute has erupted ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy, co-hosted by Pakistan and Dubai. Reports suggest India has objected to having 'Pakistan,' the official host name, printed on their jerseys. While Team India’s matches are set to take place in Dubai, this issue has added fuel to an already tense relationship between the two boards.

The hybrid hosting model, accepted after the BCCI refused to send the Indian team to Pakistan, has been a source of friction. Adding to the tension, the BCCI reportedly declined to send Indian captain Rohit Sharma to Pakistan for the captains' meet and opening ceremony.

A Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) official criticized the BCCI for "mixing politics with cricket," expressing hope that the ICC would intervene and uphold protocol.

Despite the PCB's efforts to convince the BCCI, India has remained firm on its stance, which could impact future ICC events hosted by India. With the Champions Trophy just a month away, this controversy continues to dominate headlines.
