The Kremlin dismissed U.S. President Donald Trump's recent comments regarding the Ukraine conflict, stating that they found nothing new in his statements. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov emphasized Moscow's willingness for "mutually respectful" dialogue with Washington despite ongoing tensions. In response to Trump's threats of additional sanctions if Russia does not cease its military actions, Peskov reiterated that Moscow remains open to constructive discussions.

 

Trump's remarks, made via social media, suggested he would escalate economic pressure on Russia if President Vladimir Putin fails to negotiate an end to the war. He claimed he was doing Russia a "very big favor" by pushing for a resolution, urging for a settlement to avoid worsening the situation. While the Kremlin acknowledged Trump's statements, they characterized them as lacking novel elements and reiterated their readiness for dialogue.
