Yuvraj Singh’s Playful Praise for Abhishek Sharma After Explosive 8-Sixes Against England

 

Abhishek Sharma, the 24-year-old India opener, dazzled with a blistering half-century in the first T20I against England in Kolkata, echoing the fearless style of his mentor, Yuvraj Singh. Abhishek’s 20-ball fifty was the second-fastest by an Indian against England, only behind Yuvraj’s legendary 12-ball fifty where he hit Stuart Broad for six sixes.

 

True to form, Yuvraj couldn’t resist sharing a cheeky message on social media. He tweeted: “Good start to the series, boys! Great tone set by our bowlers and well played, sir Abhishek Sharma! Impressed with those two boundaries down the ground as well."

 

Abhishek’s stunning 79 off 34 balls, featuring five fours and eight sixes, helped India chase down the target of 133 in just 12.5 overs, with a strike rate over 230. His explosive innings was reminiscent of his IPL 2024 form, leaving England's bowlers reeling.
