Zepto Introduces First Women-Only Dark Store in Chennai

 

Taking a step towards gender diversity, Zepto has launched its first women-only dark store in Chennai's Madambakkam area. This unique initiative ensures that all orders in the region are processed entirely by an all-women team, from selecting products to packing them for delivery.

 

Zepto’s co-founder and CEO, Aadit Palicha, shared the news on social media, highlighting the team’s dedication. The store is managed by Vinitha, who joined Zepto as a delivery partner in September 2023 and quickly rose through the ranks to become the store manager.

 

This move reflects Zepto’s commitment to empowering women in the workplace while standing out in the competitive quick commerce market. Currently, Blinkit leads the sector with a 46% market share, followed by Zepto at 29% and Swiggy Instamart at 25%, according to a Motilal Oswal report.
