Nitesh Kumar Reddy Ruled Out of England Series After Injury Setback
India’s all-rounder Nitesh Kumar Reddy has been sidelined for the remainder of the T20I series against England due to an injury. The announcement came just hours before the second match in Chennai. Reddy, who played the series opener in Kolkata but didn’t get a chance to bat or bowl, now faces a forced break from action.
The young cricketer had also featured in all five Tests during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia earlier this year. Former cricketer Aakash Chopra believes Reddy's heavy workload may have contributed to the injury.
"International cricket demands a different level of workload. Playing five Tests in Australia and constantly being in action, whether batting or bowling, can take a toll. He’s still young, and sometimes the body just can’t keep up with the demands," Chopra shared on his YouTube channel.
Reddy’s absence has opened the door for Shivam Dube, who has been called in as a replacement. Meanwhile, India leads the series 2-0 and will aim to secure a clean sweep in the third T20I in Rajkot.
