Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal unveiled the party's 15-point manifesto for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, titled "Kejriwal ki Guarantee," with a strong emphasis on employment for youth. During a press conference at the party headquarters, Kejriwal asserted that while other parties like the BJP and Congress make empty promises, his guarantees are genuine commitments. He stated, “This is a firm guarantee, not a hollow one like theirs,” and promised that these pledges would be fulfilled over the next five years.
Kejriwal highlighted that according to central government data, Delhi boasts the lowest unemployment rate in the country at 2%, compared to the national average of 6%. He expressed his ambition for a Delhi where no one is unemployed and outlined plans to create job opportunities for every youth in the city.
The manifesto includes previously announced initiatives such as the Mahila Samman Yojana, which provides monthly financial assistance to women, and the Sanjeevani Yojana, offering free medical services to senior citizens. Other key promises encompass waiving incorrect water bills, extending benefits of free water and electricity to tenants, and providing ₹18,000 monthly to priests and granthis.
Kejriwal acknowledged shortcomings from his previous term, particularly three unfulfilled promises regarding 24-hour water supply, cleaning the Yamuna River, and upgrading roads to European standards. He attributed these failures to the COVID-19 pandemic and legal challenges faced by his administration but assured voters that he has plans and funding to achieve these goals in the next term.
The AAP leader claimed that families in Delhi are currently saving approximately ₹25,000 per month due to his government's policies. He warned voters that electing the BJP could jeopardize these benefits.
