Varun Chakravarthy’s Fiery Spell Creates History in IND vs ENG 3rd T20I

 

Varun Chakravarthy etched his name in the record books with a sensational five-wicket haul against England in the third T20I in Rajkot. This was his second fifer in T20Is, following his maiden one against South Africa last year.

 

With this performance, Chakravarthy became the first bowler to take 10 or more wickets in a bilateral T20I series between India and England. He had already picked up three wickets in the first match in Kolkata and two in the second game in Chennai.

 

India, opting to bowl first, found themselves under pressure as Ben Duckett and Jos Buttler put on a solid 76-run stand. However, Chakravarthy turned the game around by breaking the partnership and triggering a middle-order collapse. His precise bowling, including a brilliant ninth-over dismissal of Buttler, put England on the back foot. He further dismantled the batting lineup by removing Jamie Smith, Jamie Overton, Brydon Carse, and Jofra Archer to complete his fifer.
