A stampede-like incident occurred at the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj early Wednesday morning as large crowds gathered for the 'Amrit Snan' on 'Mauni Amavasya.' Officials reported that the influx of pilgrims seeking a holy bath led to chaos, resulting in injuries to many individuals.
Currently, 30 women are receiving treatment at a central hospital set up in the Mela area. The Uttar Pradesh government had anticipated around 10 crore pilgrims to attend the Maha Kumbh on this significant day and had enhanced security measures in preparation for the event.
