Sridhar Vembu Laughs Off Political Speculations, Focuses on Zoho Future
Zoho CEO Sridhar Vembu took to social media to address rumors of him entering politics, humorously denying the claims. On X (formerly Twitter), Vembu stated, "I heard a 'news' item about me joining politics, and I burst out laughing!" He clarified further, "I’ve had zero discussions about this. Back to work!"
The speculation arose after Vembu’s recent announcement of stepping down as CEO of Zoho Corp, shifting to the position of Chief Scientist. This move comes amid rising interest in AI developments. Vembu also named co-founder Shailesh Kumar Davey as the new group CEO.
In FY23, Zoho saw a strong growth with a 30% rise in revenue, reaching ₹8,703 crore, largely driven by its enterprise IT management and business application software like Zoho and Manage Engine.
