President Donald Trump has put forth a bold proposal for the United States to "take over" the Gaza Strip, suggesting that it could be transformed into an economic hub. This announcement came during a press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, where Trump reiterated his call for Palestinians to relocate to neighboring countries like Egypt and Jordan, a suggestion that has been firmly rejected by both Palestinians and those nations.

 

"We'll own it," Trump stated, emphasizing that the U.S. would handle the removal of unexploded bombs and the reconstruction of Gaza, aiming to create jobs and housing for its inhabitants. He described Gaza as a "demolition site" in need of redevelopment, asserting that it should not be rebuilt by its current residents.

 

Netanyahu praised Trump's approach as potentially transformative, while critics have condemned the proposal as a violation of international law and a form of ethnic cleansing. Arab leaders have dismissed the idea, warning it could destabilize the region further.
