Infosys Fires 700 Freshers Over Internal Test Failure
IT giant Infosys has reportedly laid off around 700 freshers from its Mysuru campus, citing their failure to clear internal assessments. The Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate (NITES) has raised concerns over the abrupt terminations, alleging that employees were forced to sign confidentiality agreements and were even denied access to mobile phones during the process.

NITES claims that security personnel were deployed to intimidate employees, preventing them from documenting the incident or seeking help. The union is now taking the matter to the Ministry of Labour and Employment, demanding government intervention.

Infosys, however, defended its decision, stating that freshers are given three attempts to pass the internal tests, as per their contract. The company emphasized that this policy has been in place for over two decades to maintain performance standards.

With growing backlash from employee unions, the issue has sparked debate over corporate hiring practices and job security in India’s IT sector.
