Security Forces Eliminate 31 Maoists in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur Two Personnel Martyred

In a significant anti-Maoist operation on Sunday, February 9, 2025, security forces in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district neutralized 31 Maoist insurgents during a gunfight in the dense forests of the Indravati National Park. The encounter, which began around 8 a.m., also resulted in the loss of two security personnel: District Reserve Guard (DRG) Head Constable Naresh Dhruv and Special Task Force (STF) Constable Wasit Rawate. Two additional personnel sustained injuries but are reported to be in stable condition. The operation led to the recovery of a substantial cache of weapons, including AK-47s, SLRs, INSAS rifles, and grenade launchers. Union Home Minister Amit Shah lauded the forces' efforts and reiterated the government's commitment to eradicating Naxalism by March 31, 2026.
