Maharashtra Cyber Police File FIR Against Ranveer Allahbadia, Samay Raina, and Others Over 'India's Got Latent' Content
The Maharashtra Cyber Police have registered an FIR against podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, comedian Samay Raina, and approximately 28 others associated with the YouTube show 'India's Got Latent' for allegedly transmitting obscene material electronically. This action follows a similar FIR filed by the Assam Police. The case has been registered under Section 67 of the Information Technology Act, which pertains to the transmission of obscene material in electronic form. The police plan to issue summonses to all individuals involved, including artists, hosts, judges, and participants from all six episodes of the show, requesting their cooperation in the investigation.
The controversy centers on remarks made during the show, particularly a question posed by Allahbadia to a contestant, which has been widely criticized as inappropriate. In response to the backlash, Allahbadia has issued a public apology, acknowledging the inappropriateness of his comments and expressing regret for his poor judgment.
The National Commission for Women has also taken note of the incident, with Chairperson Vijaya Kishore Rahatkar stating that the language used was obscene and should not be tolerated. She emphasized the seriousness of the matter and mentioned that the commission has written to the IT minister to establish guidelines for regulating content on such platforms.

As the investigation progresses, the involved parties are expected to cooperate with law enforcement authorities. The outcome of the investigation will determine any further legal actions.
