The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced that 14 candidates have secured a perfect 100 NTA score in the first session of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025 for B.E./B.Tech programs. The top performers include five students from Rajasthan, two each from Delhi and Uttar Pradesh, and one each from Karnataka, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, and Telangana. Among the top scorers, 13 are male, and one, Sai Manogna Guthikonda from Andhra Pradesh, is female. The examination saw a participation of 12,58,136 candidates.
The JEE Main is conducted in multiple sessions, and scores are normalized to account for variations in difficulty levels across different shifts. The NTA clarified that the NTA score is a normalized score ranging from 100 to 0 for each session and is not the same as the percentage of marks obtained.
The second session of the JEE Main 2025 is scheduled for April. Based on the combined results of both sessions, candidates will be shortlisted for the JEE Advanced exam in June, which serves as the gateway for admission into the 23 premier Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
The examination was conducted in 13 languages, including Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu, and was held in 15 cities outside India, such as Manama, Doha, Dubai, Kathmandu, Muscat, Riyadh, Sharjah, Singapore, Kuwait City, Kuala Lumpur, Abu Dhabi, West Java, Washington, Lagos, and Munich.
