Champions Trophy 2025: Why Team India Won’t Play Warm-Up Matches
India Skips Warm-Up Matches for Champions Trophy 2025 – Here’s Why

Team India has decided to skip warm-up matches ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, unlike other teams preparing through practice games. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) recently announced the warm-up schedule, with Bangladesh, South Africa, and Afghanistan set to play against Pakistan A (Shaheens) between February 14-17.

Why No Warm-Ups for India?

The decision comes after India wrapped up a dominant 3-0 ODI series win against England. With that series serving as ideal preparation, the BCCI believes additional warm-up games aren’t necessary. Rohit Sharma and his squad will arrive in Dubai on February 15 and kick off their campaign against Bangladesh on February 20.

Meanwhile, South Africa and New Zealand are already in Pakistan for a tri-series, while the Shaheens, led by Shadab Khan, will take on Afghanistan in Lahore. All eyes are now on India as they gear up for the mega event without a traditional warm-up phase.
