The Indian Army stated on Thursday, February 13, 2025, that the ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) with Pakistan remains intact, despite recent skirmishes. The Army clarified that the situation is being managed through established mechanisms and that the ceasefire continues to be observed as per the understanding between both armies.
The statement follows reports of ceasefire violations and comes after a recent increase in militant activities near the LoC in the Jammu division. According to the Army, no exchange of heavy-caliber weapons has occurred, and such minor incidents are not unprecedented. Concerns have been communicated to the Pakistan Army at the appropriate level, and the Indian Army maintains a high state of alertness while closely monitoring the situation.
Recent incidents include the death of two soldiers, including a Captain, in an IED blast in the Akhnoor sector on February 11, 2025, and a soldier injured in a firing incident in the Nowshera sector on February 10. An explosion was also reported near the LoC in the Krishna Ghati Sector in Poonch on February 8.
Amid these incidents, Jammu & Kashmir Lieutenant Governor chaired a high-level security meeting in Jammu, the second such meeting in two days.
