Jasprit Bumrah Begins Recovery Journey After Champions Trophy 2025 Blow
After being ruled out of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 due to a back injury, Jasprit Bumrah has begun his rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. The Indian pacer, who was racing against time to regain fitness after getting injured during the fifth Test against Australia in Sydney, was advised five weeks of rest. However, follow-up scans confirmed he wasn’t fit enough to handle the demands of an ODI tournament.
On Tuesday night, the BCCI officially announced Bumrah’s withdrawal from the tournament, naming Harshit Rana as his replacement. Two days later, the 31-year-old shared his first post since the setback—a mirror selfie on Instagram with the caption "Rebuilding."
Dressed in a beige T-shirt, matching jacket, black shorts, and a brown cap, Bumrah’s post hinted at his focus on making a strong comeback. The BCCI has taken an extra cautious approach with him, especially after he missed the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia due to a similar injury.
India’s Champions Trophy 2025 Schedule
Fresh off a dominant 3-0 ODI series win over England, Team India will head to Dubai for the Champions Trophy on February 15. The Men in Blue have opted to skip warm-up games and will dive straight into the tournament, aiming for a strong start.
