Union minister Smriti Irani fell into trouble when her slipper's strap snapped as she alighted from a flight to address a session at Isha Foundation in Coimbatore on Saturday.

She then asked for a cobbler around to get her slippers repaired. The Union Textile Minister found her luck near Perur, which is around 16 kms from the airport, where the cobbler demanded Rs 10 for repairing the slippers.

She handed over the slipper to the cobbler and sat on a stool lying there. 

After he's done Smriti Irani placed a Rs 100 currency note near his cash box and said, “Change venda (change not needed),” repeating what Vanathi told her. 

The incident has gone viral on the social media with the netizens appreciating Smriti Irani’s gesture.
