On February 21, 2025, food and grocery delivery giant Swiggy announced a planned investment of up to ₹1,000 crore in its wholly-owned subsidiary, Scootsy Logistics Private Limited. This infusion, to be executed in one or more tranches through a rights issue, aims to bolster working capital and fund capital expenditures as part of the company's broader business expansion strategy.
Scootsy specializes in supply chain services and distribution, offering solutions such as warehouse management, in-warehouse processing with value-added services, and efficient order fulfillment for wholesalers and retailers. The subsidiary has demonstrated significant growth, with its turnover increasing from ₹1,580 crore in FY22 to ₹5,796 crore in FY24.
This investment underscores Swiggy's commitment to enhancing its logistics and supply chain capabilities, particularly in the rapidly expanding quick-commerce sector. The company has been intensifying its efforts in this area to meet the growing demand for swift delivery services.
Despite the substantial investment, there will be no change in Swiggy's ownership structure of Scootsy, which will continue to operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary.
This move aligns with Swiggy's strategic focus on scaling its infrastructure to support business growth and meet the evolving needs of its customer base.
