The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, carrying approximately 200 passengers, was over the Caspian Sea when the crew was alerted to the potential security issue. Italian Air Force fighter jets escorted the aircraft to Rome, where it landed safely around 11:15 a.m. ET.
