Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) in the 2025-26 budget has announced a series of ambitious projects to boost tourism in the city. Accordingly a City Tourism Plan is planned to promote economic growth and attract visitors.
One of the major attractions provisioned in the budget is a Marina Park along the creekside “NMMC will provide the necessary infrastructure to bring this project to life. Additionally, recognizing the ecological importance of Navi Mumbai’s vast mangrove forests, a Mangrove Park will be developed in collaboration with the Forest Department to promote conservation and environmental awareness,” said an official
Administration in the budget has also proposed establishing a museum likewise an aquarium spanning 7,773.68 square meters in Nerul, Sector 28. . “This modern facility, a joint project between NMMC and the Fisheries Department, will not only boost tourism but also serve as an educational center for students to learn about marine life,” said the official.
In the budget the infrastructure enhancements at Gavlidev and Sulaidevi tourist sites comprising new walkways, gazebos, street lighting, and drinking water facilities are also proposed to be undertaken in the expenditure head of the budget for the year 2025-26.
