US and Russia Set for Talks on Ukraine in Saudi Arabia Amid Ongoing Drone Attacks
Russian and US officials are scheduled to hold discussions on the Ukraine conflict in Saudi Arabia on Monday, March 24, 2025, as confirmed by President Vladimir Putin's aide, Yuri Ushakov. The talks will focus on initiatives discussed between Putin and US President Donald Trump regarding the Black Sea.
This diplomatic engagement follows recent phone calls between Trump, Putin, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, with the US also planning to meet with Kyiv officials shortly. Zelensky indicated that Ukraine is prepared for a proposed 30-day ceasefire covering air, sea, and ground operations but is open to discussing a partial ceasefire due to Russia's rejection of a complete halt to hostilities.

Despite these diplomatic efforts, Ukraine's air force reported that Russia launched 171 drones over its territory overnight, continuing a pattern of near-daily assaults amid ongoing negotiations. The situation remains tense as both sides prepare for critical discussions aimed at de-escalating the conflict.
