Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday dismissed speculation that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would retire at the age of 75 and that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) was considering a successor from Maharashtra. Addressing the rumors, Fadnavis firmly stated that Modi would continue to lead India for many more years and even projected him as the Prime Minister in 2029.
His remarks came in response to claims made by Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut, who suggested that the RSS was in the process of selecting a successor for Modi. Raut also speculated that Modi’s recent visit to the RSS headquarters in Nagpur was to inform Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat about his retirement plans. However, Fadnavis rejected these assertions, emphasizing that Modi remains the undisputed leader of the country and there is no need to discuss a successor.
