It's definitely a moment of proud for you as your Prime Minister Narendra Modi has won the online readers' poll for TIME Person of the Year 2016, defeating top leaders globally like incumbent US leader Barack Obama and Russia President Vladimir Putin. 

Modi has won with 18 percent of the votes, which is significant victory over his closest contenders including Obama, Trump and Wikileaks Founder Julian Assange.

According to Time, Modi has been placed ahead of prominent faces like Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and Hillary Clinton.
