In an exciting upgrade for Army, the government of India is likely to replace iconic fleet of Maruti's Gypsy with all new Tata Safari Storme soon, media reports said.
So far Gypsy is used by the Army personnel extensively at the battalion level to transport troops.
The government is yet to make announcement in this regard but the sources have confirmed the report.
Currently, the Indian army has a fleet of over 30,000 Maruti Gypsy and will progressively replace them starting next year.
