Life of as much as 27,449 people, who were living along the borders in Jammu and Kashmir, was at risk due to persistent ceasefire violation by Pakistan this year. Consequently, the government had temporarily moved them from border areas to a safer place.
Over 6000 people who were moved from border areas are still living in relief camp while others are living with their relatives in different parts of the country, the government informed the parliament.
