Saudi Arabia Sees Explosive Growth in Private Tourism Hospitality Licenses with a 333% Increase in 2024, Reaching Over 8,000 Approvals

Saudi Arabia sees a 333% rise in private tourism hospitality licenses in 2024, reaching 8,357, highlighting significant growth and investment in the tourism sector.

Preliminary figures from the Saudi Ministry of Tourism reveal a remarkable 333% increase in licenses granted to private tourism hospitality establishments in 2024 compared to the previous year. The total number of licenses soared to 8,357, up from 1,929 in 2023, as reported by SPA.

As per tourism regulations, a private tourism hospitality facility is classified as a self-contained and furnished property owned by an individual. These units are licensed by the Ministry of Tourism to offer paid, daily accommodation services to tourists.

Spokesperson Mohammed Al-Rasasimah highlighted that this significant rise in licenses underscores the Ministry’s dedication to supporting individual investors in securing essential operational licenses, ultimately contributing to a higher standard of service in the sector.
