An encounter has erupted between security forces and terrorists in the Tangmarg area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Wednesday.

A police sources told news agency JKNS that after receiving specific input about suspicious movement, a cordon was laid in the area and searches were started.

During the searches, security forces came under intense fire, triggering a gunfight in the area, they said.

Security forces have cordoned off the location, and reinforcements have been rushed, sources added.
