Why Saif and Kareena name their son after a man who ordered bloodshed in India?

 One of the hottest couple in the Bollywood Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan has sparked a controversy after they named their new born Taimur Ali Khan Pataudi recently.


People on social media have been ruthlessly trolling the couple for naming their first kid after somebody who has ordered so much bloodshed in India?


In an interview with actor Neha Dhupia, the new mother Kareena has explained the background to naming her son Taimur: "Saif is a historian and would want a traditional old school name".


Perhaps the new father has overlooked the history of of Taimur vis-à-vis Hindustan and Delhi, where he ordered to kill 100,000 Hindus in few hours.


Who was Taimur?


Taimur, is a Shia Muslim and the first Mughal king and also known as Tamerlane in the history, was born in Transoxiana on April 9, 1336. 'Timur' has been derived from the Turkic word 'iron'.


Timur, which has been considered as the strongest emperor has crossed Indus River, invaded northern India and attacked the Delhi sultanate in 1398.


The ruthless emperor has spent 35 years fighting multiple wars. In an astonishing fact nearly 2 crore people were killed during Timur's millitary attacks.
