The drama in Samajwadi Party does not seem to end soon as ticket distribution has triggered yet another tension between Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and father Mulayam Singh Yadav.

Earlier this week, SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav had declared candidates for 325 of the 403 Assembly seats and clearly ruled out projecting son Akhilesh Yadav as the Chief Ministerial candidate. 

Moreover, the list, included 176 sitting MLAs, had left out several pro-Akhilesh ministers and does not feature names of over 50 sitting MLAs.

Later on Thursday, Akhilesh circulated his own list of 235 candidates for the Assembly elections, the schedule for which is likely to be announced soon.

Reacting to Akhilesh Yadav's action Samajwadi Party, Mulayam Singh has called an urgent meeting of candidates allotted tickets amid hectic efforts to stave off a possible split in the party . 

"Bad blood between relatives has damaged the future of the state," senior leader and UP minister Azam Khan said adding the opposition parties like BJP, BSP are celebrating feud in SP "but, the fact remains that people of the state want him back as CM." 

The Mulayam Singh is likely to take final decision on ticket distribution on January 1 but due to extreme pressure from Shivpal Yadav, he had announced the part of the list on December 28th.
