More than 200 passengers traveling to Singapore on an Air India flight faced a difficult experience at Delhi airport after they were first asked to leave the aircraft due to a technical problem with cabin temperature. The journey eventually resumed nearly six hours later.
Flight AI2380, which was scheduled to depart around 11 pm on Wednesday using a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, had boarded passengers as per schedule. However, after remaining seated for almost two hours, travelers were deboarded because the air conditioning and power supply systems were not functioning properly, according to a PTI correspondent on board.
Air India explained in a statement that the delay was caused by a cooling issue while the aircraft was still on the ground before takeoff. The airline mentioned that all passengers were shifted back to the terminal, where staff members assisted them with food and refreshments.
The company further noted that travelers were consistently updated about the situation. The flight eventually departed for Singapore at 5.36 am on Thursday morning, once a different aircraft was arranged.
Air India also expressed regret for the inconvenience caused and assured that the matter was managed with the comfort of passengers in mind.
