Dhaka set to host 12th Asian Tourism Fair from September 18
The three-day 12th Asian Tourism Fair (ATF) 2025 is scheduled to open on September 18 at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in Dhaka, with Nepal joining as the prime partner country. The fair will run through September 20.
The announcement was made at a press conference held in the capital on September 15. The event is being organised by the travel magazine Porjoton Bichitra with support from the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism. The fair is expected to highlight opportunities in Bangladesh’s tourism sector while promoting stronger regional collaboration.
Biman Bangladesh Airlines is the title sponsor of this year’s edition, Crown Plaza Dhaka Gulshan is serving as the hospitality partner, while the Philippines and the Maldives are participating as partner countries.
Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation Chairperson Saima Shaheen Sultana shared details of the fair at the press briefing, which was also attended by Lynn R Gutierrez, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Philippine Embassy; Ali Shah, Deputy High Commissioner of the Maldives; Mohammad Shamsul Karim, General Manager (Sales) of Biman Bangladesh Airlines; and Karthi VK, General Manager of Crown Plaza, among other tourism sector representatives.
Wide participation and attractions
The fair will feature 180 stalls across two halls, showcasing offerings from domestic and international hotels, airlines, cruise operators, travel agencies, tour operators, theme parks, and government tourism boards, as well as foreign embassies based in Dhaka.
Visitors will be able to attend daily from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm. Entry tickets are priced at Tk 30, although admission is free through online registration. Entry coupons will also qualify visitors for a raffle draw with airline tickets and travel vouchers up for grabs.
Highlights of the fair include exclusive domestic and international travel package offers, a children’s art competition, business-to-business (B2B) networking sessions, destination and product presentations, panel discussions, seminars, and cultural programmes.
Inauguration ceremony
The Asian Tourism Fair will be inaugurated on September 18 at 3:00 pm by Sheikh Bashir Uddin, Adviser to the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, with the ministry’s secretary present as the guest of honour.
