Urban Company share price: Shares of Urban Company, earlier known as UrbanClap, made a strong entry on the stock markets on Wednesday, September 17. The company, which provides a wide range of home and personal services through its app, saw its stock list well above the issue price.
On the National Stock Exchange (NSE), Urban Company shares opened at ₹162.25 apiece, marking a 57.52 percent premium over the issue price of ₹103. On the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), the stock began trading at ₹161, a 56.31 percent jump from the IPO price.
Urban Company IPO gains per lot
Each IPO lot comprised 145 shares. Investors who received an allotment earned around ₹23,526.25 per lot on listing day.
The company’s ₹1,900 crore public issue included a fresh equity issue of ₹472 crore and an offer for sale (OFS) worth ₹1,428 crore. Among the selling shareholders were Elevation Capital V Ltd, Accel India IV (Mauritius) Ltd, Internet Fund V Pte Ltd, Bessemer India Capital Holdings II Ltd, and VYC11 Ltd.
Proceeds from the fresh issue will be directed toward office rentals, marketing campaigns, technology upgrades, cloud infrastructure, and other corporate purposes.
IPO subscription response
Urban Company’s IPO attracted strong demand, receiving bids for over 11.06 billion shares against an offer size of 106.77 million shares, translating into an overall subscription of 103.63 times.
Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIBs): Applied for 814.38 million shares against 58.08 million reserved, showing 140.20 times subscription.
Non-Institutional Investors (NIIs): Subscribed 74.04 times with bids for 215.04 million shares against 29.04 million available.
Retail Investors: Their portion was subscribed 39.25 times, with 75.99 million bids against 19.36 million shares on offer.
