A court in the United Kingdom has agreed to a request made by fugitive businessman Nirav Modi to reopen his extradition case. This development is expected to cause a further delay in his transfer to India, where he faces allegations of bank fraud, according to a report published by the Hindustan Times.
Nirav Modi’s lawyers had submitted an application before the Westminster Magistrates’ Court in London last month, asking for a fresh review of his extradition appeal. The court has now accepted the plea and issued a formal notice to the Indian authorities, a government source informed HT.
