Asia Cup 2025 Super Four: India vs Pakistan Confirmed for September 21 in Dubai
As Suryakumar Yadav’s Indian team prepares for their final Group A encounter against Oman at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Friday, the fixtures for the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup 2025 have now been finalised.
The four teams advancing to the next round are India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. The Super Four phase will begin on September 20 in Dubai, with Sri Lanka taking on Bangladesh in the opening clash. The highly anticipated India vs Pakistan match is scheduled for September 21, once again promising high-voltage action between the traditional rivals.
How the teams qualified
India was the first to seal a Super Four berth, after back-to-back victories over UAE and Pakistan. Their position was later confirmed when UAE defeated Oman. Pakistan also booked their spot by overcoming UAE and Oman in their group fixtures.
In Group B, Sri Lanka dominated with three wins in three games under Charith Asalanka’s leadership, while Bangladesh joined them in the next round after Afghanistan’s defeat to Sri Lanka cleared their path.
Super Four format explained
The second phase of the tournament will follow a round-robin format, where each of the four teams will play against the others once. The two sides finishing with the highest points will progress to the Asia Cup final. The points system remains the same as the group stage — two points for a win, one point for a no result. In case of a tie on points, net run rate will be used to determine standings.
