Amazon has been asked to tender unconditional apology by External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj for selling India flag doormat on its website.
The minister has also warned the company that the government might revoke visa to Amazon’s employee in future if the requests are not accepted.
"Amazon must tender unconditional apology. They must withdraw all products insulting our national flag immediately," Swaraj said.
“If this is not done forthwith, we will not grant Indian Visa to any Amazon official. We will also rescind the Visas issued earlier, “she added.
This came after Atul Bhobe posted a tweet on Twitter saying, "Madam. Amazon Canada must be censured and warned not to sell India flag doormats. Please take action."
The minister has also made Canada High Commission to take up the matter with the company on priority.
