Imran Khan has taken a humorous swipe at Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and Army Chief Asim Munir. The former Pakistani prime minister, currently in jail, made these sarcastic remarks following India’s consecutive victories over Pakistan in the 2025 Asia Cup.
According to his sister Aleema Khan, Imran joked that the only way Pakistan could hope to defeat India would be if Munir and Naqvi opened the batting, as reported by PTI. He also playfully suggested that the umpires should be former Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa and Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja.
For the third umpire, he mockingly recommended Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Sarfaraz Dogar.
This playful criticism comes shortly after Wasim Akram praised India for their consistent dominance over Pakistan across various aspects of the game over the past four to five years. The legendary fast bowler noted that the gap in talent, fitness, and skills between the two teams had widened considerably.
During a post-match discussion, Akram admitted it was painful to watch Pakistan struggle while India demonstrated depth and consistency. He explained that although winning and losing are natural parts of cricket, India has outperformed Pakistan in every department in recent years.
Akram also commented on Pakistan’s recent batting performance, stating that scoring only 91 runs in the first ten overs and failing to reach 200 overall was disappointing, especially after India’s commanding win on September 21.
