Mumbai Banker Scammed of Rs 17.9 Crore in Alleged Maharaja Art Deal
Residents of South Delhi’s upscale Gulmohar Park were surprised when 78-year-old retired banker Naresh Malhotra, known for his regular strolls, social gatherings, and club visits, fell victim to a massive fraud. Over a span of six weeks, Malhotra transferred a total of Rs 22.92 crore in 21 transactions across 16 bank accounts after being convinced he was purchasing art claimed to be owned by a maharaja.
India Extends Ban on Pakistani Aircraft Until October 24
In a reciprocal action, India has extended the ban on Pakistani airlines and aircraft from entering its airspace until the early morning of October 24, according to a fresh notice to airmen (NOTAM). This move follows Pakistan’s extension of its airspace closure for Indian aircraft. With this, the airspace restrictions between the two countries are entering their sixth month.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio met in New York on Monday to discuss several bilateral and international issues. This was their first meeting following the Trump administration’s decision to double tariffs on Indian imports to 50 percent as a penalty for Russian oil purchases and the recent hike of the H-1B visa fee to $100,000.
