6.2-Magnitude Earthquake Shakes Venezuela, No Casualties Reported
A powerful earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale struck Venezuela in the early hours of Thursday, according to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS).
The quake was recorded at 03:51 AM IST, with its epicenter located at latitude 9.87° North and longitude 70.82° West. It originated at a depth of about 10 kilometers, NCS data showed.
In a statement shared on X, the NCS confirmed the details of the seismic event. “Earthquake of magnitude 6.2 occurred on September 25, 2025, at 03:51:55 IST, Lat: 9.87 N, Long: 70.82 W, Depth: 10 Km, Location: Venezuela,” the post read.
So far, there have been no reports of casualties or major damage caused by the tremor. Authorities are continuing to monitor the situation.
